Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi everyone

Please would you share your ideas on celebrating the feast day of St. Therese. We have started the Novena, and we are reading the Windeatt biography. I am going to start searching for quotes for copywork for this week. We plan on watching the Therese movie again. Also roses will feature in somehow.

Blessings

We have made sacrifce beads to help children offer up their small daily sacrifices, we have made paper roses and given them away with prayers.
We usually spend "tea time" on this feast day sharing favorite parts of her biography or listening to "Story of a Soul", and snack is always chocolate eclairs (the mini ones you can buy in the freezer section) as they were a favorite of hers.
The movie sounds like a great idea - I think we will definately do that this year as I think I am suffering incredible burn out - long term, not the year end type - but that would be another thread...)
Enjoy your celebration!

For the younger kids...there are the 5 Catholic Treasure Box stories that are about her.

I LOVE the chocolate eclaire idea.....this is a great "tradition" that is so easy (if they are purchased) and who wouldn't look forward to a chocolate eclair??

Also, Glory Story has a story / CD about her.

Rabbit Trails....France / French

Acting out "play-ettes" about her and her sisters....my girls like to do this. Last year, I put pin curls in their hair the night before, so they could have their hair like the Martin sisters on the feast day.

Thanks for all the great ideas. Jenn - the thread from last year is really helpful. My daughter (Abigail Rachel) has taken St. Therese as her patron. Her birthday is on October 7 (our Lady of the Rosary) and she has a special devotion to St. Margaret Mary. So October is very busy for us!!

Blessings

These ideas and suggestions are great! My youngest dd, although born in November, is Margaret Therese, so both the St. Therese and St. Margaret Mary thoughts are very meaningful here.

Thanks so much, all of you.

Peace,
Nancy

Hurray! Hurray! Because of this thread I was motivated to visit my favorite store (ebay ) where I found the Therese Movie for $1.30!
Now to buy those chocolate eclairs...
And our grocer had lovely baby roses yesterday...
