That *is* maddening.
I'm confused though: how come Paul Vischer didn't know about the editing? You'd think if you were signing a contract with a major network one of the first questions you'd ask is how much they're going to cut/change?

Me too. Wow. I agree with Stef--you would think he would know what type of editing would happen.

Amazing that they would edit "Veggie Tales," but not Madonna!

I am just appalled at how willing the networks are to air things that are offensive to Christians, yet have to take out a line that tells children that God loves them!!!
I understand Vischer's predicament. And as my husband pointed out, an edited Madame Blueberry reaching today's kids is better than no Madame Blueberry at all.
Just think of all the unsuspecting parents who go out and buy Veggie Tales movies now for their kids and end up with a Christian video!

It certainly is a weird world we live in. This just once again confirms that broadcast TV is a soul-less waste of time and a danger to our children and I am glad I don't have it in my house.

www.philvischer.com
has info straight from the source...
I watched the tv version and think it was a huge waste. The Godly references were just cut out, so parts of the show don't even make sense because of the gap.

What also struck me was that on the same page that this news article was on had references to being gay, being sexy, scantily clad females (NOT ladies!!), breaking out of prison, murder.... blah, blah, blah... and the telly is just as bad. *sigh*
BUT DON'T SAY "God"....
Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us....
Peace and blessings, Katherine

I went to the Phil Vischer site and saw that there is a new Veggie Tale movie coming out with Universal. I found this quote from the site interesting:
This is the film, of course, about which the Universal marketing team (same team that marketed King Kong) said immediately after my story pitch, "Are you sure it's Christian enough?"
Crazy times, eh? Of course, we have Mel Gibson to thank for much of this. Thanks, Mel! Get well soon! Be nice to the Jews, they're God's people! (Didn't he watch VeggieTales?)
