Today we went exploring in a town we've never been to before. It was a quaint little town with an old fashion downtown. As we were in the thick of the old town, I spotted a BOOK STORE, used of course. I turned in with utter glee and thanksgiving as it has been a good month since my shadow has darkened a bookstore.
Combing the rows of bookshelves, I discover that a Catholic school has recently unloaded their library of "old Books". Childhood of Famous Americans, Landmarks, Visions, Catholic Family Book Club, Dujarie (15 to be exact), We Were There's, and so on. A homeschooling mothers dream, right? Really! I have had dreams like this, that I get to a booksale early and no one else is there, just me filling my boxes with unbelievable finds.
But I was awake! It was real! Each book was an amazing $1.50!!! To top it off, I set the stacks on the counter and the owner says, "Oh, you got all the old library books, we need to make room for the new stuff (ie. twaddle- I saw it) how about 10 for $1.00? Yipeee! I pay and go back for more. I gather another 30 books or so and she says, "OH! You are really helping me out today, how about a dollar for these?"
I just had to share this with all of you! Not many folks today can appreciate the absoulute soaring joy I have today!!!!!

I woke this morning to find all my books still here and content with their new home!
Thank you all for your enthusiasm, the hunt and the find are so much sweeter when it can be shared! Yes, I have pinched myself, a couple of times!
I hope I'm not being greedy, but I just have to go back this weekend, one more time, Erin, to be sure, ya know?!

Your not being greedy, your being kind. Just think those books want someone who will treasure and love them rather than be left sitting lonely on the shelf. They need rescuing.
