Hello Ladies (and Tim),
My (step)father is having an outpatient procedure tomorrow to blast some kidney stones - apparently they run in my family even among those not blood related.  (My step-dad and my husband both have them). They don't have to cut him open but he will be under a general anesthetic because it can be quite painful.
My son Johnathan is having outpatient surgery on Wednesday. Originally he was told he would be able to take his convalescent leave here with us but now they are telling him he must stay in Kansas.  We already purchased the ticket.
My daughter Elizabeth is having another ultrasound also on Wednesday. She has been having a lot of kidney problems during this pregnancy so they want to see what is going on.
So my prayer requests are as follows:
- That my dad's procedure goes smoothly, the stones are completely destroyed with just one treatment, that there are no complications, and he recovers quickly.
UPDATE: This has been postponed due to an abnormal EKG. It was a "normal" EKG for him because he has had bypass surgery but the anesthesiologist wants a letter from the heart doctor before he will do this procedure.
- That John's procedure goes smoothly and for a quick recovery.
UPDATE: I haven't heard from John but I spoke with his commander. He was out of surgery and needed to be able to use the restroom before he could be released. I am hoping he calls me in the morning.
2nd UPDATE: John called this morning (9/14). He is feeling ok, a little woozy but the pain meds are helping control the pain. The doctor scheduled an appointment during his leave time so he might not be able to fly home. Please pray that the doctor will change the appointment date.
- That the Lieutenant who is not letting him come home will change his mind so he can come visit with us during his recovery.
UPDATE: I spoke with the Captain who said as long as the doctor says yes, then John can come home. Please pray that the doctor allows him to fly home.
2nd UPDATE: John called this afternoon (9/15) and it looks like he WILL be able to make it home!  
- That the doctors can discover the cause of Elizabeth's kidney problem and that it is something easily treated.
UPDATE: The tech didn't see any problems but of course she couldn't really say anything anyway. The doctor should have the results by next week, however if there is a problem they will call sooner.

Krisann,
I will lift up your intentions in my prayers this night. My husband suffered from kidney stones six years ago. We were so thankful that the lithotripsy worked well enough the first time. I thought his pain made my pregnancy woes and delivery pains seem like nothing more than a stubbed toe. Your (step)father is on my heart.
I do hope your son's surgery is a success and that he can recover at home. Also, that your daughter's kidney problems can be sorted out.
You have much to pray for at this time. Keep yourself well, too!
