Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was talking to a beautiful young (to me ) -- they MAY be 30 or so -- woman last night. She and her husband have 7 kids (12 down to 1).

Ok, now to the point of this post: Beatrice mentioned that she often hears people regretting not having more children but she NEVER hears people saying they wish they had fewer children.

SO TRUE!! My husband and I know that will never be one of our regrets!    We are both 31 and have 8, 11 down to 3ms.! Tell your friend how it made my day to know that someone my age with as many children even exists!

Thank you for sharing, Mary. Before we were married, my husband told me that a priest once told him that the biggest regret he has heard from elderly couples is that they did not have more children.

Hey Lisa,

I'm 34 with 7 and one soul in heaven. Does that count as your age?

We have a Tobias too! I fell in love with the name after converting and reading the book of Tobias in the Bible.

I'm 33 with 7 thus far!

You ladies are such young pups!    I am 40, with 7 children but have had 11 pregnancies. So I have been pregnant/nursing most of my 17 years of marriage.

I am 35 with 8 children and I have had 2 miscarriages. I also feel like I have been pregnant or nursing most of the past 15 years. (I had my first when I was 20).

My husbadn and I have also heard the same thing - that peple regret not having more children. We have not heard anyone of the older couples we know say they wish they had less.

The other thing is that children think more children is better.

We were at the lake yesterday.   We had a child from 2 different families of 1 and 2 kids keep joining or group. One little boy wanted his name written on one of our cups so he could drink our lemonade with us, and latched on to my older son and told him "You watch me too." when he was caring for some of the youngers.

A toddler girl kept coming over to our blanket. Her mom said, "I can't understand why she thinks it's so much more fun over here."

Off topic: I partially solved some of the modesty issues with going to lakes. This one is near a large Arabic population. Lots of the teen girls and moms just swim in their dresses and head scarves.

Bridget -that is sooo true. Other kids just gravitate to larger families and love to play with our kids. The think it is so neat to have other kids to play with and be around.

I have also found that our children are always sooo happy when I tell them I am having another baby. Other families tell me that their kids were horrified when they found another baby was coming and did not want anything to do with another baby. That is sooo sad    When I told the boys I was pregnant with Maggie they were soo excited. They asked a million questions!! They just recently started to tell me that they are ready for me to have another baby and that I should have 12 babies    We are growing a culture of life affirming people!!
