Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone know of a specific novena that can be said for a deceased baby?

Christine, I'm looking around, but it seems we don't pray for a deceased baby, because they are in heaven, but for those that lost the baby. Am I correct that is what you're looking for?

Dear Jenn,

Thank you for looking. You did understand my question correctly. A co-worker of my husband asked him if there was a specific novena for a deceased baby (family member). My response was the same as yours, but I believe the person wants to pray a novena for the baby because the baby was not baptized.

I don't know of a specific novena, but you can say a rosary and ask for the intercession of the Holy Innocents.

Here's a link to The Shrine of the Holy Innocents in New York City.

You can enter the name of the deceased in The Book of Life and have prayers and Masses offered. There's more information at that link. All nine of mine are inscribed in the Book of Life there. I even have a rosary from the Shrine that has the emblem of the Holy Innocents on it. That might be a nice remembrance.

Hope that helps any.

I'll remember this in my prayers,
Sarah

Dear Sarah,

Thank you! I will pass this beautiful recommendation on to my husband.

I will keep you in my prayers.

Sincerely in Christ,
