Dear Friends,
Please pray for my 3yo dd, who will be having strabismus surgery on her eyes this Thursday (July 13) morning. It will be outpatient surgery and we should be home by midday or so. We are hoping and praying that she will only need this one surgery to correct the eye crossing -- about 50% of kids need a second surgery later. Right now dd seems peaceful about "going to a special doctor's office to have her eye doctor fix her eye-crossing." We told her she'll have to take a "nap" for him to be able to fix her eyes. Please pray that she handles everything well on that morning.
This will be our first experience of having any of our children be put under with general anesthesia . . . and it sort of freaks me out to think of a doctor operating on her eye muscles. So dh and I could use your prayers too.
Thank you so much!

Irene I'll be praying for your dd. Our ds had to have surgery under general and although I was so stressed, everything went just fine. And Stef, I will pray for you too! My last root canal was too recent for comfort

Praying for all of you! Please update us once you're home. Unfortunately 2 year old is going to need this at some point too.

Will remember your dd today, recommending her to Our Blessed Mother.
We had our first and only experience with GA surgery when almost 3year old dd had shattered her elbow - very stressful time naturally - does she have a love of a particular saint she can draw close to and ask for help? My daughter developed a very special love for St Therese of the Little Flower through her traumatic experience.

Praying for your daughter, Irene! I have a three year old daughter whose eyes do this on occasion as well. We have a family history of this so she may have to have the same procedure done someday. I am praying for your daughter's surgeons and nurses as well.

She is in our prayers.
Praying that everything goes quickly and as painlessly as possible and that she won't have to undergo a second surgery.
Blessings,
Krisann

Irene,
We'll keep all of you in our prayers. Our 9yo had the same surgery just before his 3rd birthday. It was harder on dh and I than on him.

Praying all goes well today, Irene. My daughter had strabismus surgery once when she was 2 and then again when she was 9. It took a few days to get used to seeing her with straight eyes
