I am moving this from another thread:

I am so new to the adoption process...no clue about anything. But I got a call last night that is making have a crash course.

Has anyone had a private adoption? Can you tell me anything about it? PM or on list?

Risks involved? Questions to ask? Red flags? Any safety we can build in legally to protect us? Recommendations?

Why do so many of you pick internationally? Is it easier? Faster? Less Expensive? Less emotional? Less Red Tape?
