I wasn't going to, you know. Not because I thought it was a bad book...not because Cay called me names...not because I thought Cay couldn't possibly top literature Alive!
No...I was not going to buy it because my youngest is 10, and I really don't need it.
Except, it's beautiful and useful for all ages. It's the kind of book you want to have so you can give your struggling friends some ideas . It's the kind of book you want to shake at your parish DRE when she hands you the coloring book that is supposed to teach the faith . It's the book you refer to when you need something to do with your 5 year old goddaughter when she comes to stay with you for the weekend. It's a holiday book, it's an ordinary time book, it's an outdoor book, and indoor book, a copywork book, a narration book...hey, it's even a Catholic geography book!
Oh, and you can feel free to quote me .

Oh, I will.
Thank you, dear friend, for the up-lifting review. Coming from a professional educator such as yourself and someone I look up to with utmost regard, I am truly flattered (and humbled) .

And when you quote her, Cay, be sure to include all those emoticons. I don't think I've ever seen MacBeth so inspired to emoticon usage !

To be honest, I've been salivated to buy it and am feeling pretty darn disciplined, waiting to pluck the funds out of our July income . May and June have been earmarked for Devin's highschool purchases. July and August have been earmarked for mine...I mean the boys .
Love,

MacBeth,
Darn. My youngest is 10, too, and I had decided not to buy the book. Now you've made me reconsider!

how does this differ from A Year With God? I've looked at the sample pages at Cay's website and it does look great; I just don't want to let my previous purchase go to waste!

Well, I just ordered my copy about 2 minutes ago. I too wonder about how it differs from AYWG? I can't wait to receive mine and pour over it. I showed the sample to dh last night and he said to get it...coming from him that says a lot.

Unless they've changed AYWG it varies greatly from Catholic Mosaic. AYWG is more crafts and Saints and family games and suggestions for celebrating feast days, puzzles and stuff, and printed in b & W comic book style (which my dc loved by the way) and the Mosaic is literature based and goes into greater detail reagarding how to live out the liturgical year. Just my .02, someone chime in here if this is not a correct assessment You could probably do both and it wouldn't overlap!

I just got mine, and I'm giddy, seriously giddy to get started. I also ordered all the books for July and August, (wanted to build our library more anyway...) I do think it's different than AYWG, I also think you could incorporate many of the activities from AYWG into Catholic Mosiac.

I want to use it with AYWG together for next year for our youngest, Sarah, who's 11! Is that a problem? We both still love picture books, and I'm 41 years old!!!

Just wanted to let those of you who not ordered Catholic Mosaic or are waiting for it to arrive that Cay has included lists which integrate activities from Seton Art I and A Year With God with her lovely Mosaic book!
This will make it so much simpler to plan! Thank you Cay!!!
Tracy,
I will be using Catholic Mosaic with our dc, the eldest of whom is 11. The picture book selections are so rich and Cay's book has a variety of projects, discussion questions, copywork, etc. that will be a true blessing to any Catholic child (or grownup )

I've been meaning to reply to this.
Darlene, have you gotten it yet? Angela answered your question here:

In one of the back Appendix you'll find the activities from Seton Art I and some from AYWG teamed up with the books found in Mosaic. I think it'll help your planning.

Received an email recently from Anna who runs Fountain Resources here in Australia, we have another 5 weeks to wait! Patience is a virtue ....so long to wait!
The good news is I received Literature Alive! in the mail from Anna yesterday! Well that will keep me busy in the meantime.
