Hi Ladies,
Please pray for Colleen Hammond (the author of the book Dressing with Dignity). I belong to a yahoo group that she runs and we have been informed that Colleen is suffering from Infectious Endocarditis (a heart infection) and that it is pretty serious. She and her family are asking for prayers.

I researched her condition a little and it looks like it is treatable if caught in the first 6 weeks. If it's not caught then, it's always fatal. It wasn't clear in the email I got from her dh what the prognosis is. I'm really frightened for them! Praying, praying.

Below is the update I received about Colleen today. I am sure her family is very appreciative of your prayers.

Dear friends and family,
Here’s an update on Colleen’s situation. Apparently, there is a rumor on the
internet that she’s near death. That is NOT true, although her health situation
has us concerned.
Colleen is still exhausted…and bored! We aren’t eating as well as when Colleen
was cooking, but we’re getting by.
The doctor has Colleen on another round of antibiotics. She’s still having
dizziness and occasional disorientation. But the good news is that the frequency
and intensity of the occasional “numbness on one side” has decreased and pretty
much stopped. Overall, she’s doing better, but if the dizziness and
disorientation continue into next week, she’ll have to see a neurologist.
Colleen continues to be upbeat and open to God’s will.
Keep those prayers coming, please!

Here is the update I got about Colleen Hammond today. It seems that she and her family could still use alot of prayers. The message was sent 4 days ago. For some reason it was delayed in getting to me, so the info about the MI trip is outdated in case you wanted to go.

Well, I'm back...but only briefly.
First of all, thank you so much for your prayers, frozen meals, gift cards,
restaurant gift certificates, and notes of encouragement. I have them all here
and will be answering them all soon.
Second. My visit to the neurologist on Tuesday didn't bring the good news we
were expecting.
Through the grace of God, I survived the heart infection, a serious of "mini"
strokes, and to top it all off I had food poisoning a couple of weeks ago. But
I'm still having a few medical problems, and the doctors are trying to figure it
all out. I have tons of testing coming up in the next week, so your continued
prayers are appreciated.
BUT...the neurologist gave me the "ok" to travel!
I'm heading to Michigan this weekend where I'll be doing one of my last speaking
engagements (July 29th I'll be in CT, August 12th in CO) and then I'll be taking
a hiatus from traveling and speaking to get healthy...and then to finish up the
many writing projects I’ve been working on and get the next book done!
So, please come join us this Saturday in Ann Arbor for this FREE event (but you
