I have just been changing my avatar and I was looking at what I had saved in my Mary Files and I came across this one I tried to do an internet image search on it and couldn't find it again! So my dh has placed it on a site of ours so that you can have a look. I had never seen this picture before and if you have twins it is a real treasure.

My thoughts went immediately to Mary Ellen. What a beautiful image for her to use as she prays her way through these last couple of hot, uncomfortable months.

Oh Anne,
I have never seen that picture before. That is so serene. How fast that time goes.
Peace,
Mare

Thanks for posting the picture, Anne! It really is beautiful. I've forwarded it on to my friend with TWO sets of twins!

SO beautiful! And serene. Can't say I witness the like in our house any more...both of our "non-biological" twins are really on the move. How fast the baby days go by!
BTW, has anyone heard from Mary Ellen? She must be nearing her due date I imagine.

Thanks so much for sharing this picture. I printed it out on nice paper and it is going in a frame next to my bed. It will be a wonderful comfort as I toss and turn all night!
I know I haven't posted my lately here or on the blog. I am supposed to be laying down a few hours a day. Due date is August 13 but since they are really big for twins and I am having contractions a lot the doctor is saying the challenge will be keeping them inside until mid-July. I go for a sono Thursday so I will let you all know how they are doing.
In the meantime I am resting a lot and trying to get the house ready. My parents have been here helping and tomorrow they leave for Savannah and are taking Katie and Erin for a vacation. They'll be back in two weeks.
Friends have been brining meals and taking the children on outings so I am living the good life. Everyone has been so kind and helpful.
Thanks for all your prayers.

Well I was intrigued so I searched until I found a site with the picture -- here. It's a painting by William Bouguereau.
He did some other paintings that you've all probably seen before including Our Lady with Angels (see page 3 below) and, I believe, the picture of Mary holding a lamb and hanging laundry. Here are some samples...

Thanks Jen for tracking all that down. I have always loved the The Virgin with Angels and the Angel's Song as well, some of his more secular paintings are familiar - a very talented man Bouguereau was.
