Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi Ladies,

I don't even have the energy to update you as to what all has happened. I did have to find another OB on Friday. I found a pro-life one who has ordered new bloodwork and new ultrasound. My HCG levels were never drawn at any point at the first OB. There were some inconsistencies with the 2 ultrasounds I had last week, so the new guy scheduled one for Mon.

It almost sounded like there was a glimmer of hope that maybe something was off. But this morning I started spotting. I have no cramping yet. I have been put on medication for excessive bleeding after every delivery so I'm aware of this complication. The second OB has not actually met me--I saw nurse practitioner on Friday. Should I need to go to the hospital, I pray the new OB will come see me.

Well, I don't know what to do. I'm just hanging out in my recliner trying to drink lots of fluids. I went ahead and ate lunch. I can't take anything for pain because it all thins my blood=could lead to complications. I've never delivered any baby unmedicated. Granted I'm 9 weeks, but my cycles are usually quite debilitating.

Please keep me in prayer. If you have any helpful info as to anything I should/shouldn't be doing during this time, let me know!

I'm grateful God made His will clear to us and took the D&C decision out of our hands while the info was still conflicting, and I'm grateful that He is in charge. All His works are gracious and good even through the tears. That has been such a sustaining comfort.

Ana,
Call the new doctor and let them know you are indeed spotting. They'll have you watch the flow and the size of the clots. If it's just spotting, you can wait until tomorrow to go in. If the bleeding intensifies and you are soaking pads (1 an hour) or passing clots larger than a walnut, you may need to go to the ER tonight in order to avoid hemorrhage.I bled heavily with my first miscarriage and need an emergency D&C over the weekend. I never bled with the second and had a scheduled D&C ten days after the baby was confirmed dead. Keep drinking. Eat lightly as long as you are spotting lightly. If the bleeding intensifies, you want to limit your food so as to leave yourself anesthesia options. Believe me, a D&C with an epidural becaus eyou just ate a heart breakfast is not a pleasant experience (BTDT).

God bless you, dear. We ARE praying you through this.

And...not to squelch your glimmer of hope, either. There are many women here who have bled through pregnancy.

Ana-
I second that calling the doc. If you are indeed miscarrying, the bleeding can really get heavy quickly.

praying. . .

Thank you so much. Things are going really slow, thankfully. Only spotting when at the restroom and very light in color. It's almost reminiscent of the bleeding I had in my last pregnancy with my now 2 yr. old. Your prayers are a blessing to me. Thank you. I'll keep you posted.

Dear Ana,

You have been in my prayers since you posted last week. I am glad to hear you found a pro-life ob. Your experience sounds so familiar to me. Our baby died at 7 weeks, but I did not find out until the ultrasound about week 13. My body would not miscarry, but I spotted lightly but regularly for weeks. It was our hope to avoid a D&C. We waited a few more weeks, then my OB gave me medication to cause my womb to contract. I was able to avoid the D&C, but lost so much blood quite rapidly that I ended up in the e.r. with an I.V. I have since healed, but it took my body quite some time to get back to feeling "normal."

One of the members of this board was kind enough to share her experience with me in a p.m. I found her comments very helpful because my prior miscarriage was quite different that what I was experiencing a couple of months ago. If I can be of any help to you, please feel free to send me a p.m.

You will be in our prayers.
God Bless you and Mary keep you,

A good friend of ours bled through a pregnancy until she was given progestrone. It stopped the bleeding and she brought the baby to term.

I will also be keeping you in our prayers this week.
Blessings,
Stephanie
