Our neighbor's daughter, Melissa, is 15 years old. She has been hospitalized this past week for colitis. Unfortunately, things are going horribly wrong with her body. Tonight the family is asking for a miracle.
She had a CT scan performed today, and they could not locate a source of bleeding, but she is still losing blood. Worse yet, the scan showed that of 4 arteries supplying her liver, 3 are completely blocked. They are trying medication to unblock them, but must be very careful due to continued bleeding. At this point, she is unable to eat or drink anything and is not strong enough for surgery. This may be related to some of the strong medicine they needed to give her to try to control the colitis and bleeding.
She also seems to have another infection, unknown where, and is running a fever of 101*. Her liver is swollen so severely that if the clots cannot be relieved soon, it will shut down. For the next procedure, she needs to be off pain medication as well. Things seem to be spiralling down out of control. This Catholic homeschooling family is asking for prayers from all who are willing.
