We leave early tomorrow morning to take Grace to the Carmel and we are not ready in the least. I think I just don't want her to go...
Update - Feb. 1
Grace entered the Carmel Saturday morning. We thought everything we had gone through with Rose and Peter would have prepared us. Not so much. It was more beautiful and more heartache than we could have imagined. I plan to share pictures and stories via the blog and Instagram, but at the moment our hearts and heads are so full of emotion and memories and sadness and thinking about what the future holds. The drive out all together was perfect. The drive home without our girls (Emily flew back to school early Sunday morning) is a little quieter with more tears, but it will all be okay because our God is amazing!
We are headed for some weather. Ironically, it is a large storm from the Pacific that hit San Diego yesterday. It is moving to Arizona and New Mexico which we are heading towards today. At the moment, skies are clear in Oklahoma and the Texas panhandle. We will be careful.
Mary, this was the best route. If Grace stays in, we are bound to pass your way on another trip. Thank you, friend.
Thank you so much for your prayers and love! This is tough for us but we feel the prayers and love.

Praying, dear Erica!!! Thank you all for the gift of giving the Church another beautiful intercessor for us all!  I can so understand your heart, my thoughts have been with you all, thinking of the stages of grief you will experience, and the sacrifice of entering the cloister on her part, as well as those who love her offering up her presence in your lives.
