Hi ladies,
I've had some weird feelings in my chest since Friday, something like a light squeeze and maybe a tad shortness of breath. Okay, typing that makes me think I should be headed to the ER!
It began after we arrived in the mountains for a weekend camping trip. I thought maybe the altitude was affecting me, but I've never had trouble with that before and I have been walking/exercising regularly. I don't think I was dehydrated. The feelings did not go away when we came home yesterday and are still here this morning. I am trying to get in to have my blood pressure and other vitals taken. A friend thought I could be anemic, so maybe some lab work as well.
Has anyone experienced anything like this?

No...but I encourage you to see your doctor right away. (Sounds like you are doing that.)
Praying for you, Erica!

Erica, I was just in Bryce canyon the other day and felt lousy with shortness of breath and a bit wacky in the head, but I wouldn't describe it as tightness in the chest. Now I am in Flagstaff and feeling better although the altitude is still a challenge for me.
My BIL is over 50 and says in the last couple of years he has more problems with higher altitudes although he has lived in Flagstaff over 30 years.
You haven't reached the big 50 but hopefully it is just a question of changes taking place in your body.

I am not far off from the big 50! :)
Thank you for all your responses.
I had an EKG and a thorough check-up. Everything is normal (blood pressure, etc.). I am on my way to the lab for a chest x-ray and blood work. The only thing they said at the end of the appointment was something about a clot and being in a higher altitude... Not totally sure, so it will be good to find out/rule out things.
I appreciate the prayers!
Stephanie, will you be visiting San Diego?
