Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Just wanted to share a positive story. Yesterday we were in the car and a man was by the side of the road in need. I usually give a bottle of water, a snack or a dollar, but had nothing around me. I mentioned it to the kids, and they said I should give him a root beer. It is their special root beer from Whole Foods hours away that they rarely get. I started to say, "no, I don't think he needs that in the hot sun", but they insisted. They so badly wanted to give something to him, included their cherished drink. My 5yo said, 'Mom, Jesus loves the poor". I opened the window and handed out the soda.

It's been a tough few months trying to figure out ODS' reading issues, switching tutors, and working to give everybody their due attention. Plus, I never feel like we are studying the faith quite enough. My emotions are getting the better of me. But that was a very special moment, and their simple generosity made me realize something is getting through.

That's so sweet. Thanks for sharing. You've modeled the faith for them, that is more than any study can give them. The faith is more often caught than taught. Good job Mom!!

I love how your children persisted - they clearly saw this gentleman's humanity as well as his need. Thank you for devoting so much time and energy (and prayer!) to your family!
