Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

So, so, so true! It really is amazing! I find myself making sure my teens are included in many of our picture book readings b/c they are so beautiful. That's after my almost 16 yo dd has already read them to herself.

My dd's ballet company is a dance ministry going to various nursing homes to share their gift of dance. This is my 2nd year teaching at our co-op a class that is based on reading picture books. I've often wondered about sharing the beauty of picture books before they do their ballet performance b/c I love the beauty of story telling. Just thought that might come across as an "odd" service to the elderly but I truly think they would enjoy it. Since many that I read are 50+ years old, I thought it would help bring them memories of their youth.
