My dh and oldest ds just left for a two week Scout trip to Philmont Scout Ranch. Please pray for safe travels and a safe adventure for all involved. Especially for my ds's health. He has a nut allergy for which he must carry an epi-pen. Of course, a backcountry hiking trip involves a lot of nuts being around at mealtimes. My dh and he took Benadryl and two epi's with them, but I am having a bit of anxiety about their distance from medical help for most of the trip.
Also, we could use prayers here on the home front. I am still recovering from a nasty little illness, we dragged ourselves through the week to get them ready. So the house is a wreck, laundry's piled up, everyone's tired and I'm still not 100%. We'll get through it, but right now it's a little daunting without my dh/best friend to share it all with.
You military wives have my undying admiration.
TIA
Anita
6/26 They arrived home safe and sound and had a great time. Thanks for the prayer support. I told my ds that I had posted on here, and his response was "Oh, so I was in a prayer bubble the whole time? No wonder nothing bad happened to me." Thanks again! Praying for your intentions everyday.

Praying, Anita. I did a lot of worrying when my son went to Philmont, too. He came home tired but very, very happy that he had gone; I don't think he realized how much people would admire him for doing a Philmont trek until he got home.

Praying all goes well, Anita
God bless your son and dh while away, and God bless you on the home front.

P. S. - Anita, thanks for your kind words for military wives...I know plenty of civilian wives who deal with crazy schedules and absent husbands, just as I do, so I think all of us who are wives and moms should give each other an extra smile and a prayer of support!
And, you're right, you'll get through it (probably just in time to do all that Philmont laundry, I'm guessing)...and it's worth it. I do hope you feel 100% better very, very soon. It's hard to handle the home front when you are under the weather.

I did a Philmont trek and it was amazing! Even though its huge, its a pretty busy place and a well-oiled machine. Also, I the first-aid area does a lot--they have a good facility and Drs. on site. I hope they keep the whole crew nut-free for you though.
Praying, Anita.

Thank you for the prayers. I am doing much better, and your prayers are definitely helping.
The boys arrived yesterday and seem to be doing well. My dh is still a little under the weather, but improving. (He had the bug before I did.)
Thanks again for all the prayer support.
Anita

I'm so glad to know they are safely home and had such a great time.
I'm totally stealing the "prayer bubble" phrase.

So happy to hear all went well! I, too, like the sound of "prayer bubble."
