Lily is having her hiatal hernia repair right now. They've been in for over an hour, up to 3 more to go. Please pray the surgery is successful and her recovery is uneventful. Also, she has to have a nasogastric tube until tomorrow. That will not be fun.
Thanks!!! 
4/7--We came home Saturday! They were planning on Sun or Monday, but Lily was doing so well....scampering down the hall to play in the playroom, eating...so we got to come home. She spent a better part of yesterday outside playing with the newly revealed landscape rocks that have been under snow since December. What a great day! Thanks so much for your prayers! We have several more surgeries coming up with a few other kids....but round one is done and I am so grateful for a successful surgery!

Thank you, dear friends! Waiting to see her. Surgery went well. Recovery with this is not easy. She'll have a nasogastric tube until tomorrow. She is so sensitive, gags easily, this won't be a fun night for her. Please pray for good pain control. That's always a big deal for her.
I was already getting teary when I helped move her to the OR table for the 14th time. The anesthesiologist asked Lily (who was groggy from versed) if she'd like to be sung to sleep. Lily smiled and nodded yes...the doc put the mask on Lily and sung like a quiet, sweet angel as Lily dozed off. What a sweet, calming thing to do, she's my new favorite anesthesiologist!!
Marilyn, that is too precious for words!
Angie, she's quite the sweetheart! Very charming, the preop staff loved her.

How is Lily doing? We are still praying for her... The little ones are talking about how she walked through our front door all confident, brushed past me and called "Michael, where are you..." - whilst 4 year old Michael was hiding under the table, a little intimidated by the 4 year old bundle of bubbles and energy walking through our door!!
Tell Lily that Anna picked her a bunch of bell hyacinths today...

Marilyn, she is doing great! I believe the actual volume of food she can eat has gone up already! It helps when your stomach is in the abdominal cavity and not planted next to a lung in the chest cavity.  Lil has played outside the last few days, gently, but so happy to be walking around a yard that's nearly snow free. She isn't a fan of the puréed diet she's on, other than she gets lots of coconut ice cream. While her esophagus is healing they don't want food getting caught from the swelling. We should be back to chicken nuggets in just over a month. 
We were both just saying we'd love to go out to DC again, and VA! I'm sure she'd march right in again and excitedly say, "Hi Friends!! What are we going to play??"
