First, I have to say I am most definitely out of the loop- I didn't realize until a few days ago that
Toys R US is having a Great Trade In Event through 2-17.

You can take your old baby gear,furniture, etc and trade it in for 25% off on new items, like cars seats,, strollers, etc.

I don't really have anything to trade in , but what a great way to save if you need something plus want to let go of some old gear.

In the past couple of weeks I did make two trips to Once Upon a Child and earned about $50 from old toys my kids were ready to let go of, plus clothing they have outgrown.

I know a lot of people are not Once Upon A Child fans, since they tend to be very picky and not pay much. However, I have to look at it this way:
they normally will give me more than what I would charge for the same item if I had a garage sale. So, I am getting more per item and don't have to have a yard sale...win/win for me!

I tend to like consignment sales and stores for that very reason. Yard sales are great for unloading large quantities in a hurry, though. Which do you prefer?

Yard sales.. but that's because I don't have that many options here. AND.. there is a 2nd hand store that not only takes donations of anything but will come and get it.. so after the yard sale the stuff all goes away
