Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi Friends!

I ate waaaaay too many homemade pumpkin chocolate chip oatmeal cookies for Superbowl Sunday. Today....I ate more...that’s it!! NO more cookies until Easter.
Any standout recipes from your game day spread?? Here’s the post for the cookies....These were good, but still not crispy enough for me. This fact did NOT stop me and now I probably need to go back to Confession for gluttony.

Monday--leftover chili

Tuesday--Pork roast in slow cooker and in oven. The one in the slow cooker is for barbecue, the one in the oven is with potatoes and carrots for dinner. We’ll use the barbecue pork for lunches this week.

Wednesday--leftovers (big doc visit that day)

Thursday--Ham and sweet potatoes with green beans

Friday-Tuna sandwiches

Saturday-Spaghetti

Sunday--Ham and potato soup

I got TWO more hams from Aldi’s for $8 each....these are the big ones for the holidays that were marked down. They are great for a big meal, then leftovers for lunch and the bone for soup.

tomorrow is a pot of beans
sometime later in the week will be chili with leftover beef roast and some of the beans from tomorrow.

Something easy tonight.. maybe chicken gravy over rice.

Well, last week was a bit of a disaster food-wise since I had the flu... so the Superbowl was ordered pizza for them and Aidell's chicken sausages (a great improvement over popsicles!) for me.

Tonight: Beef stew (with the last of the carrots from the garden) is in the crockpot. Go me. We'll eat this over mashed potatoes, which my dd can make if necessary. I'm feeling better, but still not 100%. (It was a rotten flu. 6 days before I felt really human again.)

Tues - pork roast with sweet potatoes?

Weds - some kind of beef vegetable soup, with rice noodles or GF dumplings or biscuits maybe

That's about all I've got right now. (Food still doesn't sound too great.) Hopefully I'll have made a little progress by Thursday night, though.

Girl, feel better!!! That is miserable when you are sick that long with a house full of kids...
