Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Not really sure where to post this but I am looking for a good science read for my 13 year old daughter. She considers reading about science fun :) I am looking for something not exactly like a textbook but yet still a science book that is very informational. She definitely has a science mind and is pretty advanced on the subject for her age.
Thank you for any suggestions!

Have you looked into biographies of scientists?

My kids enjoyed The Mystery of the Periodic Table. Very informational. The last section was quite difficult for the younger kids, but it was a good book.

This is an interesting blog post about a new science series aimed at 9-12 year olds. They are each titled, "Nick & Tesla's . . . " You'd have to determine if they are too young for her or not.

My ds16 is currently reading Science Matters - Robert Hazen and says it is an absolutely brilliant book. He gets so excited about it, reads it for fun!! He too is science minded. Just asked him if it would be too old for her and he didn't think so considering the information you shared.
