Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I really recommend the book Claire's Costly Cookie My youngest dd received it as a Saint Nicholas gift - and we have been doing it as part of evening prayer time for the whole family. It is a very cute and thoughtful book and all of us have enjoyed it.

On a related topic - the coloring pages by the illustrator of Claire's Costly Cookie are really lovely - I just purchased them and have bound books for my elementary aged children. I am working on copywork (saint quotes for each coloring page) that I want to do in New American Cursive for my first grader and fourth grader. Here is a link to the the coloring pages

I have this book and was saving it for an Easter basket...
now I might have to reconsider and think about it as read aloud during Lent.

I didn't even realize that there were coloring pages to go with it!

Melinda - I am sorry that I was a little unclear. The coloring pages are not to go with the book. The coloring pages are Liturgical Year coloring pages by month. They are by the same person who illustrated Claire's Costly Cookie.

Back to the book - it would make a great Lenten read aloud. We were so sad when it was over. My 4 year old wants to write to the author and ask her to write another one!
