Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was googling to find out the best wasp nest removal techniques when I found these on-the-spotremedies for wasp stings. This is the perfect time to tuck these ideas away. The instant coffee under the tongue as a temporary antihistamine was an interesting idea. Then there is white vinegar or baking soda paste as a topical.

Another thing I thought was very good advice is the idea to create your own adrenaline through movement if you have an allergic reaction and are waiting for medical help. The article says it is best not to rest as it is the adrenaline that helps keep the airway open. Something I'd never thought of before!

Thanks for passing this along, Gwen! We have wasps, but they've never really been aggressive--I'd say we've had no more than 6 stings in 7 years. I was thinking of doing a mini-unit on wasps, so if anyone has any lit suggestions on wasps, I'm all ears! I should probably re-post this on units or great outdoors...

Has anyone heard of using teabag for taking out the "sting" of bee/wasp sting? This was my grandmother's old time remedy.

I was stung by a wasp and in a home remedy book my mother had, it said to rub aspirin on the sting. It went from throbbing to completly fine in a second. It was one of those things where we were all like WOW! I always keep aspirin in the first aid kit now.
