What are your thoughts about paintball? We have a large field and woods behind our house. My dh and I are talking about getting the boys paintball equipment - face masks, "markers" (the gun), etc. so they can play here at home. They've always wanted to go play paintball but we've never taken them. They are 13 and 10 and we're guessing my oldest son who is in college would have fun with it too, and probably DH as well!
Any thoughts?
The benefit I see is that all the boys and their dad would be playing outside! When the weather gets cold around here we all sort of hibernate and the boys really need to the physical activity! (We all do actually, but I would rather take a walk! )

How old are your boys, Betsy? Do they play at home, or go to one of the paintball places? If you play at home is there anything besides face masks that is necessary for protection? Any other advice on the equipment?

My 14 year old son and his friends play airsoft which I think is similar but small pellets are used. They love it, kind of live for it, and the gear is what is asked for or saved up for. I picked him up from a recent afternoon of playing and I was surprised how much gear and clothing the boys had. Lots of camo clothing and definitely head and eye protection. Most sporting goods stores here carry items, but he has been finding things on Ebay as well.
