Isn't it funny how there always seems to be one gift each year that is way harder to find than it should be?
I am looking for new slippers for ds. He wears mens size 8.
I have looked high and low... Target, Walmart, TJ MAxx, Ross, Old Navy, Lands End... no size 8.
Mens sizes seem to start at size 9. Youth sizes end at 7, and they tend to run small. I had him try a size 9, but they are just too big, and he didn't like how they flapped when he walked. I was hoping he'd just grow into them, but he really wants something that fits now. Plus I don't like the idea of him flapping up and down the stairs in too big slippers.
Is there a slipper shortage this year? Where else can I look??
ETA:I don't really want to pay $75 for slippers from Zappos when he could outgrow them in 3 months

I really like Sierra Trading Post.. because they're often selling off last season and such, you can often find those less popular sizes.
Sierra Trading post Men's slippers size 8

No advice but I feel your pain. That is the in-between size. I remember trying to find cross country shoes for my son in that size. Ugh.

I (St. Nicholas) got these for my son at Target online. He likes them. And they have a size 8. I did buy them when it was buy one get one half price though.

Maybe they are pricier than what you are looking for, but LLBean slippers are nice and come in a wide range of sizes (7 and up in Men's). We are big slipper wearers, though being a good bit further north than you are, and I find that inexpensive slippers do not hold up to being worn all day or are not comfortable enough to want to wear all day.

They don't make an adult version of the slippers my boys like, but these are close, a lot like the ones I wear (which don't flop), and come in an 8.

Thank you all so much for these suggestions! Finding shoes in mens sizes 7 and 8 has been a challenge for sure. Now I have several more leads to pursue
