Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My 14yr old dd's good friend is very interested in Australia and we would like to give her a book of fiction with an Australian setting. I looked through the archives and found a series similar to the American Girl series, but they are all kindle books.
Maybe someone can suggest a book of fiction or non fiction that would interest a 14 yr old girl?

Thanks for any suggestions you might share!

Oh goodie my absolute favourite topic Australian literature!

Should I assume from your question you are particularly leaning towards Australian history fiction?

Stephanie

I see what you mean about Kindle! I'm assuming you were trying to purchase through Amazon.   Lots of the titles I was going to suggest are Kindles!!!!

However Book Depository has free postage worldwide so you're in luck

Elyne Mitchell books for horse lovers

History fiction be sure to check out Jackie French's historical novels a fair amount set in Australia (though I do pre-read all her novels) Bk Dep. have some.

Many of the books I was going to suggest from my website are OOP, I'll keep researching, looking for in print books.

I've been looking through books on the NSW website, but the ones I find interesting, e.g. My Australian Story:...
are not available or rarely I can get a used book. Are these books interesting?

Erin, if you could name a couple of books I would be very thankful. It is for an american girl, very christian/not catholic , homeschooled, 2nd of 5 kids, loves animals and swims competitively.

I personally think the My Australian Story books ,written in diary form would be good. What do you think and what do you recommend otherwise???
Thanks

They are good, some of course more interesting than others. Just checked Addall they have only one of My Australian series.

As she likes animals one of the Elyne Mitchell books may interest, and they are easier for you to get.

Suggesting the Switherby Pilgrims republished by Bethlehem Books. Historical and well written (love Eleanor Spence) and there is a sequel Jamberoo Road

Thank you Erin for all your efforts. I will let my dd decide between the Switherby and Brumby books. I am sure she will be delighted.
