Please pray along with me for a rapid and just compromise in Congress, so that the impact of today's shutdown will be minimized.

Heavenly Father, You hold us all in Your loving hands. Send Your Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Wisdom, to all those decision-makers who must make difficult political choices and compromises. Grant them understanding and clear sight, fortitude and charity. Be with the United States of America in this time of crisis, and send Your consolation and peace to everyone affected by the political events of our times.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Praying for America. Didn't know what a government shutdown was, a bit of research and now I do. So is it usually of this duration?
