Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Good morning all,
My daughter will be attending the Midwest Steubenville Conference in Springfield, Mo July 19-21. I am wondering what other 4 Real forum teens who have attended any of the conferences think about it? Was it a great experience? Everything I see and read about it looks awesome, so I'm just wondering what others really think. Thank you...have a wonderful 4th. We will be traveling, so I may not be online much to see any responses. Blessings to you all.

I very much enjoyed the Steubenville conference when I went as a young person 12 yrs. ago. The faith of the young people there is very alive and vibrant. The conferences are quite Charismatic, or at least were when I went, in case that matters one way or the other for you. I enjoyed it more when I was younger, but now in my "old age" I lean more towards the Traditional. Again, the conferences there are a fun time thought for the young, and it was a big help at a time when I needed it. Hope she has a great time!

Both of my sons have enjoyed it very much. One of my sons said he would give up every other camp or summer activities just to go to Steubenville.

They will also both be attending the Springfield, MO conference July 19-21st. I would expect that your daughter will enjoy the conference.

I think it depends on the teen. One of my sons (the one who ended up going to Franciscan University) really enjoyed it and went several years (Steubenville of the Rockies). My daughter (current high schooler) doesn't really care to go though several of her homeschool friends went. It is more charismatic and praise & worship-y. That isn't her style so much. I think my next son will be interested when he is old enough. They are well done and have excellent speakers. I do think they talk to the teens of the culture - so topics might be more direct/raw than some homeschoolers are used to if more sheltered. It is all faithful to Church teaching, of course.

I think she will love it. I attended once and Cash three times when we were youth ministers and I loved it all except Adoration which on one hand is the climax of the weekend but on the other just a small part. My two oldest have attended here in San Diego twice and my 14 year old son will attend for the first time this summer. My kids are traditional as far as Mass and music at Mass and well-formed, too, but they enjoy the conference very much. We listen to a lot of praise and worship type music in the car so the singing periods of the conference are fun for them. They go for the fun and the experience of being with thousands of other Catholic teens. It is fun! They like the talks and there is Confession all day long.

I could speak about Adoration more if you'd like, but overall I think the conference is great. I would appreciate it if the San Diego team enforced their own dress code (which is in print in their own literature!) because a great deal of gals are wearing those awful short, shorts, but my daughter said she saw many more gals in skirts for Mass on Sunday the second year she attended and she was approached by more than one young man regarding her veil. :)

I hope your daughter has a wonderful time!
