Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have 3 children doing Latin. I am looking for a way to teach some of them together. One is going to be a 9th grader who has completed LCII, a 7th grader completed LCI, and a 5th grader who has only done the vocabulary and prayers of LCI. I can't see myself doing 3 Latin programs. This past school year I did 2, and I found it difficult. Is there a program or a way to teach different levels of Latin?

I'd put them all in Henle Latin. You really only need to complete LCI to move into Henle, so I really think it could be a good option for you.

Your rising 6th grader will need help with the grammar if the only thing they've done is vocab/prayer memorization of LCI, but if I were trying to be efficient and combine, I'd go to Henle and I think it could work well for you!

Using the Memoria Press guide/resources for Henle is a huge help in terms of planning and executing.

Jen,

Henle intimidates me because it's just a book. I really relied on the LC DVD's. Is it hard to teach? I am learning right along with my dc.

Visual Latin is painless and it is pretty immersive (and Dwayne is very funny- my kids repeat Dwayne jokes at dinner). My dd 15 did VL after Henle 1 and even though she skipped the first batch or two she still found lots to chew on. She supplemented it with the Lingua Latina book, which Dwayne gives a schedule for free!

If you have at least one child that has made it through LCI (and you have two!), you shouldn't be teaching Latin AT ALL! I didn't! I got my kids the Memoria Press guide, and let them read through a couple of pages at a time, and we discussed. They could check their own work! My kids preferred Henle over Latina Christiana once they got there, and found it a bit of a relief.

I think he also has a schedule to coordinate his lessons with Henle as well
