Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My boys finished up their work this morning. Anyone else finish up recently or just about to finish? To celebrate I went to our local Dollar General and bought some cheap outdoor toys for the boys to play with today since it's suppose to be hot! Almost 90 today! Keep in mind I had to turn the heat on yesterday morning because it was 64 in the house when we woke up!

Anyway, I'm happy to be done! My summer is planned out and it should be smooth sailing. We are taking eight weeks off. I do have some math and reading planned for the summer. Now what to do the rest of the day? Start planning lesson plans for next year? Maybe a nap!

Good for you. We are not finished, but I have been working to get easy to follow plans in place so we can start post-summer baby in mid-August and shoot for a mid-May round up next year.

YEAH! Schools out here too. It's been warm today here too. We have retreated into the cool house which I left closed up. (love those root cellars!)

I threw the towel for schooling about two weeks ago. We are moving soon and I was always on the phone or boxing stuff up....I haven't really thought about the fall in specifics, but only in general. I'm hoping late July I can start making a plan for the fall.

This summer we will aquait ourselves with the land, flora and fauna as well as getting some chickens established. That should be enough learning for us all. (and learning how to take wall paper off!)

We're not even close....

We had an exchange student this year so we were kind-of tied to the public school calendar - so we started late and took off some time that I hadn't planned.

This week is FUN WEEK, though. Morning readings and one other thing - and then we go to fun activities. Yesterday was movie day (we watched a movie about the Wright brothers), today was board game day (yes, my 7YO did beat his brother and me in a marathon game of Monopoly), tomorrow is nature day, and Friday is art day.

So, we're having a relaxed week, but we have to get back on track next week.

We never really finish, just move on to the next thing, though our load is considerably lighter through the month of June due to summer sports. This year we we be taking time off in July when baby comes, and again if we move (waiting on appraisal and inspections!). So we will just keep trucking along in our rather haphazard fashion, weaving together academics and life.
