I am about to start homeschooling ds8, (after 8yrs homeschooling his brothers) and would like for us to learn some of the older traditional hymns. I have zero musical skill, so we would need a cd to listen to. Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Tricia

I am planning to use this program. I am a musician, but I haven't been able to make this happen as much as I want, and I will have a newborn next school year, which makes that sort of thing even harder. The quality of the singing on all the samples I've heard is excellent, and I like the sound of the dvd options as teaching tools.

I don't have much musical skill, either. We've enjoy these cds:
Songs for God and Country the kids all like this cd a lot, it is so cute to hear them singeing the songs together and around the house.
which has this song book to accompany it, with words and music
or here is the cassette tape version of it if you prefer a tape.
We also all enjoy the this cd, Catholic Latin Classics, even dh who is very musical and can be more picky about CDs likes this one.
Then we like this one, too Non Nobis Domine, from the Seton High School Choir. has a lot of nice hymns, as well as other nice songs to learn. Here is a review of the cd.
Hope this helps!

Richard Proulx has wonderful recordings!
I'm glad to hear you like Non Nobis. That was my mothers project.

I've started posting a weekly English hymn and Gregorian chant (and colouring page) at brandt.id.au. There's a link to subscribe by email in the sidebar too.
My favourite Catholic music CD right now is Prima Luce
