Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have a Rival 22-lb-turkey roaster (from the crockpot company) that I bought last Thanksgiving. Love it. Use it all the time. Can't believe I never had one before.

I have a single oven, so for holidays it's really helped to have that second "oven." But I use it for all kinds of things on a regular basis.

We have a Rival one, too. It has been a *huge* lifesaver recently when cooking larger meals than would fit in a crock pot. I do find for crockpot-type meals I have to watch it and keep the temp. a little lower than usual, just for a helpful note. I looked up online what the typical temp is for the low and high settings on a crockpot, and used that as my basic guide. I found that I had to watch it and keep the temp. a little lower than it said and stir it unlike the crockpot, to keep things from sticking/burning.

Sorry if this goes off topic, just thought it would help once you got one.

So, after reading the other thread about cooking in the roaster, am I right in thinking that it's the sort of thing a big family could graduate to after out growing their crockpot? I own the biggest crockpot I could find, but I now have to cook potatoes separate when making beef stew in order to get two meals out of it. Forget making a big batch of anything to freeze.
