Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I saw these while browsing the Seton site. Has anyone listened to these? My kids love listening to audiobooks and stories while we drive and sometimes during lunch. I just didn't know if these were interesting and high quality. Thanks!

Our family really enjoys these! The stories are interesting, the voice actors are usually very good, and the quality is great.

My kids like them. I think they are a little dramatic, but keep your attention.

We like them a lot. I think we have all of them except the newest one on Bl. Miguel Pro, which I am hoping to get as he has such an intriguing story. My kids are a bit past the age for them now but I keep them to use for our support group feast day events and hopefully grandkids someday. I did buy most of them before the price when up so much - they used to be $8.99 each when I was getting them at conferences.

If you want to give it a try Lighthouse Media has a special version offered through them (Bl. Jose Rio de Sanchez and St. Joan of Arc) there for less.
$3.50 (+s/h) or an mp3 download for only $2.50 and no s/h if you want to give one a listen before spending more.

We are with Mary; we own them all and our children quote them quite often.

My favorite line is from Mother Theresa's story when they explain how her mother teaches her to pray on her five fingers. My daughter at age 3 would walk around the house saying (while touching each finger on her hand) YOU. did. this. to. me. I still get teary eyed when I think of my little girl internalizing that very important lesson.

yes, a bit over dramatized at times but so very beautiful!

We have several of them. And dear friends of ours are the voices in a few of the CDs.

HOWEVER, do be careful of the stories you choose for your children. Some are a bit too realistic.

For instance, Joan of Arc--burning at the stake--I have family friends who say it is just too much for the children.

The first time my children listened to St. Cecilia's story, I think their eyes bugged out of their heads...the beheading scene was a bit much for them, too. We set that one aside for a year or so before listening again.

More gentle stories are: Blessed Imelda, Juan Diego, Bl. Mother Teresa, St. Joseph, Katherine Drexel (my favorite), St. Faustina.

Just my .02. :)

And I do think they are expensive and try to only order when there are specials.
