Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello I'm Jennie Lou. I just posted my intro and now I have a question about copywork. We are moving away from traditional handwriting books and I'm looking at my options for copywork. I would like this to be an area that the children can work independantly and that I can check when convenient. For that reason I think a copybook like those Memoria Press publishes would be a good fit for us. My 6yod has used their K copybook sucessfully and I was planning on having her just work through the series. They are also coming out with cursive books which might be a good fit for my 9yod. So my questions are, are there any other copybooks like these out there? They don't really lay open as flat as I would like. I noticed that Ambleside has some pages that can be printed out to be written on directly (with lines.) Is there another source for this? How about for cursive? My 11yo ds who is dyslexic has been using HWT to learn cursive. He just finished his book and declared that he it didn't teach him any cursive. Sigh. I don't really expect him to write in cursive but I want him to be able to read it. Up until last year it was practically another alphabet for his dyslexic mind!

So ideally I'd like to find a Catholic source for copywork that has the lines with the verses (or whatever is being copied.) Any recommendations?

Jennie Lou
