I feel incredibly needy, but I don't know what else to do or ask for besides prayer!
Things have become extremely complicated regarding Rose's adoption. We have an appointment at 8:30 a.m. and could really use prayers. I am a mess, but Cash is calm which is good!
Rose came home today. She is doing great!
Update and Another Request for Prayer
We have a hearing tomorrow (Wednesday) for Temporary Legal Guardianship for Rose. It is at 9:00 a.m. PST. A lawyer friend will go with me (not acting as our lawyer), but Cash won't because of work obligations. At times I feel like I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown. All along we have said that if the birth parents asked for the baby back because the circumstances for which they gave her up had changed we would give her back. This is not the case and here we are. It is so complicated. Although we are receiving good advice, some of it legal, I feel alone in this as the agency has stepped out of the picture not having legal authority in the matter. We never imagined anything like this happening and are growing weary. Trying to pray and stay calm. Thank you for your prayers!
Update on March 18
After a little glitch on Wednesday, we were granted Temporary Legal Guardianship on Friday morning. Our friend ended up as our lawyer and that took a lot of pressure off me/us. She ended having conversations and emails with the birth father, too. I had a great deal of peace on Friday, but a few weird/untrue things have been said to our lawyer/friend since and this has us worried about the motives of the birth parents. It is all so confusing. She is trying to get them to speak with a great local adoption counselor and we are very open to meeting with them, but I'm not sure what they are thinking at this point. There is another hearing set for May 1. We are praying hard things are resolved before that. The last few weeks have been very difficult for us, like a very bad dream. But, Rose is doing well. She is gaining weight and is very sweet. She has a cardiology appointment tomorrow and we should start talking about her heart surgery.
We are praying that the birth parents will have peace about the adoption and sign the relinquishment papers this week.

Praying Erica! May God reward you both for your love for sweet little Rose, and for going through this trial for what you believe to be best for His precious gift! Remember the cross, and hold tight to Him as you walk through this difficult time during this blessed season of Lent, when He endured so much for us. Thank you for the updates, so we can do our little bit to uphold you guys through this time! Dh and I always marvel and are grateful to God when one of us is calm/strong to be able to support the other during times of trial.  and
