Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I would like to start handing over some responsibility to my daughter for dinner once a week, every two weeks (for now). Most recipe books I have are filled with expensive meals, and I want a book that lends itself to cheap meals. I've looked at the $5 Dinners and Family Feasts for $75 A Week, but I'm not sure I like either one. Do you have any books to recommend? I don't want it to be specifically a child's cookbook, but something with sensible, cheap, and easy meals that she can go through and choose a dinner to make.

Thanks!

I really like this one:Get Cooking:150 simple recipes to get you started in the kitchenby Mollie Katzen of Moosewood fame. She also has an excellent child's cookbook called Honest Pretzels. My daughter has made a few things from each of these.

Oh, that one looks great Theresa. My son, 18 in a week, loves to cook and that looks like it could be a good fit!
