My dd is there this year and I'm missing being there myself. We have been several times, always with the group that goes from our diocese. The past few years we've opted out, although our older children have gone, so at least we have representatives there.

I'm wondering what it would be like to go as a family, instead of on a big bus with a group. Does anyone have any experience to share in that regard?

I think it would be difficult finding a place to stay, getting around town, etc. without the bus. But right now, with children including littles, the bus situation isn't do-able either.

My husband took three of the older kids two years ago, he got a hotel very close to the Mall...wasn’t that outrageous of a price, and saved him from driving around, they were able to walk everywhere. It is doable with planning.
