This video shows you how to reconstruct (as best researchers can tell) the braided hairstyle of the Roman Vestal virgin priestesses.
Very interesting to me. I'd love to see more like this for the Greek and Roman hairdos.

Thanks, Jenn. Interesting. I'm showing Yena (who's very preoccupied with hair right now).

I had to find her YouTube channel: great historical hairstyles: Renaissance, Greek, Roman, Cleopatra, 18th century. So interesting to me. Wish I had a daughter to try it all out.

Very neat! I had to check out the 18th century one (technique used into the 19th century) now that was neat! Not only did she explain how it was done but she showed you how to do it with modern implements.

Now, all we need is a Hairy Vetch thread in Nature and Science, and my day will be complete!!!!!

I'm seriously holding myself back - you'd be amazed and laugh uncontrollably at how much I can talk about hairy vetch!!!
I'm imagining all of you orating your favorite winter poems with lovely and historically accurate coiffed Roman Vestal Virgin hairdos...while standing amidst a field of lovely lilac hairy vetch!!

Okay, I've never read "Evolution" and that subject line throws me.
But as far as my title...I got you!!! "Made you look, made you look...!!!!"
Every homeschooler has crazy rabbit trails. And hairdos are a perfect hands on history for fair maidens.

Yes, I think this is probably the most unique topic heading of the year I have thought so since it was first posted and caught me eye (and piqued my curiosity).

It totally worked!
And on a serious note, my oldest dd and I really enjoyed watching the first video tutorial you posted. We watched it when you first posted it...I just never got back to say so. I found the history in it very interesting! And my oldest dd DOES love to style the almost 5yo's hair in 18th century English court hair coiffing and dress her up for period photos so you're totally right about that! I emailed my dd the links you shared and wonder what she'll do with this new historical hairstyle info!!!
