Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Several hours early, but I wanted to send prayers out for a joyous New Year to all my forum friends!

It's snowing like crazy here and I could completely enjoy it if everyone was home. Dh went to work today and oldest ds stayed at my parents house last night so that he could help my mom with chores today. I'm wondering who will brave the roads to bring him home. But, I'm enjoying the snow plow going up and down the road and it just covers back up as soon he is done.    I wish dh would have taken the day off. I'm sure he is the only one is the office today.

I hope your son is home by now and you're enjoying the snow!

And I wish a happy new year to everyone too! May it be filled with peace and draw each of us closer to God.

Happy New Year ~ west coast

Almost there and we watched Rudolph's Shiny New Year and played our new "Divinity" game and indulged in ice cream sundaes.. and I found clothes for the 3 little boys to wear to Mass in the morning.. and I'm only missing 1 boot (well 2 -not a pair- but one's been missing and I found other shoes for that child)

Getting ready to give a happy shout and then tuck everyone into bed so we can get up for 9am Mass (figure a min. of an hour to get everyone ready and need to be out the door 20 min til)

Happy New Year everyone. We were actually in bed by 11:00 because I had to be up early this morning but we had a fun celebration. We decided our New Years Eve tradition would be Bingo. Yes, Bingo! I made lots of fun snacks and printed off an on line Bingo game. We were trying to think of something fun that both my elderly mom and my 5 yo would enjoy. Bingo did the trick. We didn't even have prizes but all the kids had fun.

Happy New Year!

We went to Mass in shifts -- daughter and her partygoing friends to 5 pm at one parish, husband and younger kids to 7 pm at another, me at 11 pm at my own, to sing. Our priest likes to do the Vigil Mass for the feast at 11, followed by a Holy Hour at midnight, but I didn't stay long into the Holy Hour, since we were getting up to drive to TN in the morning, which is why I'm here at 6:42 a.m!

Oh, and we had a party-food dinner -- I just bought lots of frozen hors-'oeuvres-type things ("Packaged food! Wow! Mom bought packaged food!") and heated them up.

Blessings to everyone in 2013!

Sally
