Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My 5 year old goes to speech therapy two hours per week. His speech problems are pretty significant. I am wondering if there is a toy that might help him to practice his speech. I might be getting a Kindle Fire for Christmas so an app for that would work too. Any ideas?

My younger son was in speech for three years.

His therapist told me that there are several apps, but they are all for iPad, etc., not for Android. (At least that was the case a year ago).

As for games, we would play any game and he would practice a word before his turn. His speech therapists would use board games and Play Doh a lot with him. They also always seemed to have a mirror handy so that he could look at his mouth as he was forming sounds so that he could self-correct.

One that was especially popular for my son, though, was to play Go Fish using his speech words as the cards. Mommy Speech Therapy is a great place to get images for the sounds you are practicing. I would just print out two of each image, cut them out, and glue them onto index cards. Cheap, easy, and it only took a few minutes to make a new batch when he "graduated" to a new sound.
