Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

She is three and loves Disney princess stuff. I want to get her a book or two for Christmas, but avoid Disney stuff. Any ideas for pictures books for a 3 year old princess lover?

There are some nice picture book versions of the princess stories - not Disney-ized.

Jan Brett has a really nice Beauty and the Beast more closely aligned with the fairy tale. Love the clues/story in the borders - which is classic Brett.

Cinderella by Kinuko Y. Craft
Cinderella by Marcia Brown
The Sleeping Beauty by Jane Yolen
Rapunzul by Paul O. Zelinsky

About a king but does feature the princess, too.
King Midas and the Golden Touch by Charlotte Craft

Well, not princess, but I think the Flicka, Ricka, and Dicka books are sweet and "girly"

Does she have a favorite princess? Perhaps you could find a non-Disney version of the book. I know there are many "Cinderella" stories from around the world (Amazon has a list). Perhaps they have some for other princesses too.
God bless,

Well if you're weaning her off Disney, what about a Fancy Nancy book? Whilst I'm not immediately drawn to her books I did appreciate the manners one.
