Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. OK - I love wearing jeans and sneakers. . . but my question is what color sneakers. I think white looks so - bright and never like it. I tried black and just don't know. . . then of course there are NEON colors (no, can't do it!). Well, what is appropriate fashion wise to wear with jeans. Been thinking grey - but so hard to find lately!

There are no silly fashion questions!

I don't care for white or black sneakers either. Depending on your wardrobe think gray is a good choice.

One place that I find is great for buying shoes is Zappos.com. Great customer service, free shipping both ways. The draw back is that they carry better brands (which are more expensive) and you never get a clearance deal.

One of the features that I use a lot is there search engine. You can list the types of shoes, size and color and get a list of shoes.

I did a search for you for gray sneakers . It looks like there are a good amount of choices.

I hope that helps....good luck!!!

I wear size 10 shoes, so I am always trying to find ways to make my feet look smaller...which means my current New Balance shoes are a light tan, not white or a bright color.

Dancing Daughter wears all kinds of colors (royal blue is the current color of choice) and gets lots of compliments.

I really think anything goes, so it depends on your reason for wearing sneakers in the first place. (My reasons include foot comfort/health, first and foremost, but I do want to look nice, too!)

I try not to go to light or too dark. My last few pairs have been mostly gray with some pink. I like pink to make my the non-girly sneakers look girly.

I wear sneakers 90% of the time. I wear an eleven so I usually get running shoes because they are slightly shaped smaller. I put on a cross trainer and I look like I have clown shoes on.

Me, too, Cassie! I wish I had my daughter's total lack of fashion worry...she wears what she likes, from head to toe. I look at my feet and see...Bozo.

Just wanted to add that you can also buy from 6pm.com which is Zappo's sister site where they have their clearance items. Free shipping but not both ways AFAIK. I've found some good deals there.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Zappo's!!!

(ARGH, i shouldn't have clicked on 6pm. Now I'm COVETING.    )

9.5 here, and it always killed me how the display shoe in a store was always a 6 and looked so cute, and then when I pulled out my size, it was NOT

I'm really kind of coveting my 8-year-old's royal-blue Converse sneaks. She looks so funky and cool! I don't wear sneakers much if I'm not exercising, but my current ones are turquoise Saucony running shoes, which I do kind of like. I love Converse, but even at an 8.5/9, I appreciate that running shoes make my feet look more petite!

Sally, I think your dd's Converse are the same ones my daughter has!

You know what I think it is...I am of "a certain age," and that age includes a childhood spent watching Bozo the Clown.

What a service we've done for our daughters, keeping them away from Bozo and his big red shoes! They feel free to wear any color and style they please. What freedom!

My older daughter had some lime-green ones, also very cool. She has fairly big feet, but while not at all fashion un-self-conscious, has never seemed to worry about how they made her feet look. I always think they look fun, myself!

And yes, no Bozo!
