Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

How do you inspire your children to have good posture? My husband has very poor posture and I don't want my children to grow up with the back pains he feels because of it. I'm already seeing my 10, 8 and 6 year olds slouching in church and at the table, etc. I don't want to be constantly nagging them...

Is this an issue for anyone else? Do you do special back-exercises for children that help with posture? How do you avoid the constant reminders?

Sports! Horsebackriding, gymnastics and ballet are all great for your posture without having to nag at all.

Because of my sway back my mom used to stand me up against a wall to straighten out my posture. I would also walk with a book on my head. That might be a fun "game" for the kids?

Place a small finger on the bottom part of the spine as not only a practical way to help aline but a non-verbal reminder. Modelling by you is good. Also little sayings, "stand tall, be proud!" Alas you will also have to constantly remind them, no way around it.

also you might consider if you need to adjust the height of your chairs.. or get foot stools or something (maybe just a piece of 2x4 or something) but it's much easier to sit up straight if your feet aren't dangling.

My dd is an Irish step dancer, and posture is key in both performances and competitions.

She has found that strengthening her core (situps, pushups, Pilates exercises, planks, etc.) has made an enormous difference in her posture. It takes time, but the results are worth the effort.

Well, I nag.      My mom used to reach past however many children she had to, to poke us in the back at Mass. Elasta Mom.
