Oh dear friends, begging a few prayers from you all *today*!
I need to be filled with mercy and grace today. I just found out that an uncle (by marriage) is bringing his new girlfriend up to our house to introduce us all to her (my husband's parents are visiting right now, and this uncle is my fil's brother). ... I have heard very, very bad things about this woman. I don't want her in my home, yet I've never even met her. And they are driving here as I type.
Despite the things that I have heard, please pray for me to be gracious and merciful... For all I know she is trying to turn her life around.... You just don't know. There are mental health issues here, substance abuse issues, and several restraining orders against her (from her own children!!!). I feel as though I am going to vomit..... I am absolutely stressed!

Oh, Chris, praying for you right now! She must be arriving right around this time; begging our Lady to intercede for you and give you grace and mercy to be a light to this poor woman and your uncle. Also, praying that the holy angels guard and protect your children from any negative influences associated with this visit.
May the Spirit of Peace fill you right now!

How can I thank you all enough for the emergency prayers?! I felt every single one of them, and could not have made it through the afternoon without them.
What a bizarre day. What a strange situation. And the whole *thing* stinks like an episode of Dr. Phil! 
Nothing of note took place the entire day and she behaved herself. In fact, I actually found myself liking her, but would put up my guard as soon as I would think back to her offenses and remind myself that all of her niceties could surely be deception.
Her and my uncle-in-law have bought a house together and made the announcement that they are getting married. They have known each other for less than 3 months. Again ... this has making of a Dr. Phil episode at best ... dateline episode at worst.
The "family" is going to speak up and talk with my uncle-in-law and perhaps give his blinded-self some needed guidance. The problem is that no one seems to know how to best approach the issue without hurt or angry feelings. But come on! He HAS to know that this is just plain crazy! You don't meet someone, find out they were declared legally insane, have mulitple restraining orders against them from their own children, past dependency issues, declares herself a born again Christian, and decide to MARRY them in less than 3 months. CRAZY.
I'll be doing my best to keep my distance - which shouldn't be too difficult. I only see him 2 or 3 times a year at most anyway ....
I'll be praying for him, his presence of mind, clarity, and his bank account ....
