Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We have given up eating most breads in our home. We do enjoy a homemade loaf about once a month. Of course I don't make it and the lady that does charges $4 and I have to drive to pick it up. So, I would like to make my own. I have only made ones out of a box, but we are eating as many whole foods as we can. Anyone have a recipe to share and advice on making it since this is a first for me.

what type of bread are you wanting? whole wheat or ??? and what type of equipment do you have? like do you have a mixer strong enough to knead bread or will you be doing it by hand?

whole wheat . . . . my mixer has an attachment for kneading, but never have used it. I think it could do it.

The basic. Boule recipe from Artisan Bread in 5 minutes a Day is very good. There are whole wheat recipes too.
