Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just received a notification of upcoming Ambleside trainings being offered in Herndon, VA. This is a two-day intensive training. I can't recommend this enough. Even if you don't fully use Charlotte Mason's methods in every subject, this teacher training is so very valuable in encouraging and educating one in both parenting and teaching skills. If there is one thing I wish I had done differently as a younger homeschooling mom, it is that I would have taken more quality teacher training courses such as this one. I know it's expensive, but if we can get a group of three of us to attend, it is a bit less. I'm planning on attending the October training.

Here's the scoop (they actually have a lovely flyer, but I can't post it here--will gladly send you the email with the flyer if you pm me!):

COME JOIN US in experiencing Charlotte Mason's
educational principles applied. To learn more about Ambleside Schools, or to grow in the Ambleside Method, attend our 3 Day Ambleside Internship at Ambleside Herndon VA. October 17-19 and February 20-22.

Ambleside Internships consist of three days of training for the purpose of providing in depth instruction in the application of the pedagogical principles of British educator Charlotte Mason (1842-1923). Led by Ambleside staff, participants spend 16 + hours in seminar style reading and discussion of Charlotte Mason's writings; thereby, gaining a fundamental understanding of her method and philosophy of education. Additionally, the interns spend six hours observing in Ambleside classrooms, where they have the opportunity to witness Ambleside teachers apply Charlotte Mason's pedagogy across a variety of disciplines at different grade levels. Not only do these observations bring to life the seminars and discussions, but they allow interns to gain from the experience and engage in discussions about the observations with Ambleside's trained staff.

Internships are normally limited to 12 participants.
Cost is $800 per person ($725 per person for groups of 3 or more).
Includes a light breakfast and lunch each day. Limited lodging available.
