Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am about to lock the doors and not let them come back inside! We are getting rain for the first time all summer. My boys decided to go outside and I said to wear coats. They just came to the door asking me to get their coats since their clothes were completely wet! I don't understand. I caught the oldest with his hands on the m&m bag as I was making lunch and gave him the no look. He stopped for a moment, looked me over, and opened it up anyway, tried to take some out before he dropped it because I yelled so loud. For the past few days I say do this, they look at me, shrug, and disobey. Chores are not being done either. Not sure what I am doing wrong this week. The oldest has been reminded of his sinning behavior inbetween the m&m and coat incidents. So, it hasn't helped.

I guess I just need to vent my frustrations since I am tired of being walked over all week. But, will take any words of advice.

Yes. Do this.

Then run into the kitchen and make yourself a strawberry margarita.

Hmmm...not a bad idea!!! I really don't drink much but some days I've been known to say "I might just take it up!"

My kids have been this way lately, too. I realized that we had worked diligently on obedience during the school year....and then this summer they regressed. It's been an exhausting week.

My 4yo was shocked that I counted him and followed through w/ a punishment several times this week (123 Magic). Guess I've been slacking, too. I find that when I just explain about the wrongdoing, or if I yell, he in particular doesn't care a whit. He also does things when I can't quite catch him in the act, thereby lessening the odds that I'll punish after the fact.
