Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

For you bloggers....

I have a small blog. When I went to add some pictures yesterday it said I reached my maximum and would have to start paying for storage space.

Okay I guess I am way naive!      I had no idea that could happen.

So, is everyone else paying the $2.50 a month for storage, or do you have a better provider, or do you not have as many pictures

Any advice???? I'm not sure I want to do a monthly charge, even though it is rather small. I don't know?!?!!!

I host many of my pictures at photobucket - and if I run out there I'll use another place, lol. :)   It's pretty easy with photobucket to copy the url and place it where I want in the text of my post.

I'm sure better bloggers than me have ideas though!

Okay so here is how non-techie I am...I so muddle through, I'm one of those "just enough to get it done" types...not always so good!

So...when you post the url, then does the photo show up in the post itself, or do people just click on a link to see the photo?

I clicked over to your blog and clicked a picture, it didn't have a url up top so I wasn't sure.

I don't think there is any way around this. I ran into the same problem some time ago and simply bought more space (I think I payed about $5.00, maybe $10.00), but that has lasted for over a year now.

Wow, I must not post that many pictures. I've been on Blogger since 2007, and haven't run out of space yet. (and have probably jinxed myself now!)

I do post a lot of pics. And I ran out of room a long time ago and got the "you need to pay to upgrade your storage service for photos if you ever want to upload another photo to Blogger again" message. Because Blogger is a free blog service, I don't mind paying a little for storage space for the images I upload so I paid the small amount for extra photo storage. I think it was $5 for a certain amount of space. I've already exceeded that, too. And had to upgrade storage space again.    What can I say? I like pictures.

Well, I've mostly uploaded to blogger lately so that is why. :)

But yes, when you use photobucket, they'll see the picture. There's an option for copy/pasting in the html, and you use that option (there are also options for copying just the link, and message board language, etc)

Thanks for the tip Amy...I'm going to try it out.

I think part of the memory issue is not so much the number of photos but I have been using a lot of shots from my dd's high end Canon Rebel T2i which I noticed take forever to load, as compared to my simple Nikon D40.

I wish there was just a one time fee for storage...everything I've seen is a monthly fee, yucko! The lowest is $2.50 but that's about $30 a year. Not sure I want to go down that road.

Hi! In January I ran out of storage. I paid $5.00 for an additional 20 GB of storage. It was a one time fee.

Got the Photobucket to work, cool!

Funny when I went to the site I tried to signup and it said I already had an account. Asked for a password change, got the email...my "username" was rather odd sounding.

Long story short...it was an older account that I had allowed my dd to start a couple of years ago for her photo editing projects. I just didn't know that she had signed herself up as "Meringue Princess"...okay not how I'd like to refer to myself...but it'll do!

At least I got my choice of passwords!

I've been blogging for years with blogger and haven't hit this problem yet. Do you reduce the space/resolution of your photos? Perhaps that's why I haven't hit the limit yet

This is interesting to me, as I just switched over to Blogger to avoid paying the yearly fee to Typepad. So, am I correct in thinking that blogger is still cheaper than typepad? I post a lot of pictures.

Don't know how much type pad is...but the first "size" up was 25GB for $2.50 every month. Then it just went up from there.

I've made it work with the photo bucket. I didn't want Google charging my card anything every.single.month.
