Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I couldn't pick a thread to choose for the liturgical Year, but throughout the year there are opportunities to share recipes from Poland in honor of different saints:

St. Casimir of Poland, March 4
St. Stanislaus, April 7
St. John of Kanty, December 23
St. Faustina, October 5

Pope Blessed John Paul II anniversaries:

Feast: April 2

Birthday: May 18, 1920
Papal Ascension: October 16, 1078
Died: April 2, 2005
Beatified: May 1, 2011

I have several cookbooks that I pull recipes, but I just found the most beautifully illustrated cookbook for Polish recipes. This is great for inspiration, because there are full-color photographs for each recipe of these classic Polish recipes. there are recipes for some liturgical feasts, like Easter and Christmas.

Polish Classic Recipes by Laura and Peter Zeranski

The book is not overly large, but this is would be a winner to find the most traditional and authentic Polish recipes.

Enjoy!

My library just got a copy, and I think it's a winner.
